This summer, Fayette-Ware High School seniors Matthew Roach, Caleb Malone and Matthew Leifer will be aspiring to defend the nation.
All three enlisted into the Marine Corps this past fall and will be going to the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, S.C. for 12 weeks this summer.
They will be training where more than a million men and women have trained and served the United States all over the globe.
Over the next few months, they will be preparing through three different strength tests: pull-ups, crunches and timed runs.
Roach will be going into Infantry; Malone into Combat Engineering; and Leifer will be training to be a Heavy Equipment Operator.
