Lady Lions finish season at sectionals

The West Junior High Lady Lions went 9-5 in the regular season before going on to win the Area 6 Small Schools District Tournament at Middleton, bringing their season to 12-5. The girls then fought hard in the state sectionals tournament but fell short of a victory in the first round. “Without my assistant coaches, Jason Winfrey and Neil Halvorson, I surely would not have been able to lead such a strong season,” said Coach Croley. “The girls worked very hard after school and on holiday breaks to build their knowledge and ability of the sport. The entire season felt like we grew as a team and as a family.” ABOVE: From left are Madilyn Halvorson, Brianna Craft, Khaila Richardson, Jayla Cole, Jakirya Jones, Kamyia Ransom, Miya Higgs, Shaniah Tate, Jayla Davis, Aliyah Middlebrooks, Latisha Graves, Akosi Mayes-Paige, Crystal Ingram, Makayla Clark and Tameya Douglas, team manager.
