Wildcats take first loss of season

The Fayette-Ware Wildcats lost their first game of the season Saturday 84-47 to Houston in the championship game of the Cordova Lupus Classic. The Wildcats knocked off Cordova 74-61 one day earlier to earn a right to play in the championship game. Junior guard Mikkel Norment was named The Commercial Appeal Player of Week after averaging 25 points and 6.7 rebounds last week. Fayette-Ware is now 10-1 on the season and scheduled to host McNairy Central on Dec. 11. The Bobcats are 2-6 on the season. Senior point guard Markerro Broadnax is fouled by a Cordova defender while driving to the basket Friday night. The Wildcats won the game 74-61 and advanced to the final game of the Cordova Lupus Classic where they fell to Houston 84-47.
