Somerville-based farm equipment company sold to H&R Agri-Power

The Willie German Equipment Company in Somerville and Brownsville has been acquired by H&R Agri-Power.

The acquisition occurred last week and consists of two farm equipment dealerships that feature farm equipment for Case IH, Zimmatic, Bush Hog, Kuhn, Woods, Great Plains and other manufacturers.

H&R Agri-Power officials said they plan to “preserve and build upon the exceptional quality service and long-lasting relationships that Willie German Equipment Company customers have enjoyed.”

Billy Meyer, Willie German Equipment Company General Manager, will continue to manage both locations.

“Everyone will benefit from this merger”, said Meyer. “And our customers will continue to see the familiar faces they have come to know and trust.”

Wayne Hunt, H&R Agri-Power president, said the group plans to enhance the current infrastructure by “making substantial investments in service trucks, tooling and facility upgrades.” “Our mission is to offer more selection,” he said, “more service and more solutions to every customer in Brownsville, Somerville and the surrounding areas.”

With this latest acquisition, H&R Agri-Power has acquired seven new locations since November 2011, with a total of 13 dealerships in four states.

For more than 50 years, H&R Agri-Power has been serving the equipment, service and parts needs of local farmers. The company now owns and operates 13 full-service farm equipment dealerships in Kentucky, Illinois, Tennessee and Alabama. They sell, service and support equipment from Case IH, New Holland, Kubota, Mahindra, Kinze, Land Pride, Great Plains, Bush Hog, Woods, Krause, Unverferth, Exmark, Grasshopper, Vermeer, H&S, Rhino and Dixie Chopper, among others.

H&R Agri-Power utilizes over $10 million in parts inventory; employs more than 65 manufacturer-trained service technicians; and maintains a fleet of service trucks to meet every customer need. H&R Agri-Power also sells used combines, tractors and a wide variety of other used farm equipment.
