The Fayette-Ware High School girls’ soccer team played a scrimmage at Jackson North Side High School on Aug. 18.

South Gibson High School, Jackson North Side High School and Jackson Central Merry High School were the other schools involved in the “play day.”

All of the girls played three games. Christina Deekan played the majority of the games as goalie. Sydney Barnes is team captain, along with Hannah Wisely as co-captain.

The Wildcats then traveled to Lexington on Aug. 20 to play Lexington High School. This was the first official game of the girls’ soccer season for the Lady Wildcats.

The team fell 7-0 to Trinity Christian Academy in Jackson on Aug. 23.

“This being the first year for the team,” said Coach Pattie Barnes, “the girls have pulled together with amazing commitment and effort. They managed to hold the scoring to a minimum and finish with a victorious spirit.”

The girls will play at Jackson North Side on Sept. 11.
